Qui sont les « daïmons » qui nous entourent aujourd’hui ? Peut-on encore entendre leurs voix ? Sont-ils plus proches du « démon » qui parle à l’oreille vigilante de Socrate, intermédiaire entre les dieux et les hommes ? ou du « familier » qui tourmente l’âme par les actions malines de la sorcellerie médiévale ? ou encore du génie ambivalent qui conseille et tente, qui sermonne et punit, image populaire de la psychè où s’affrontent les forces contradictoires de la conscience et de l’inconscient ?

 

C’est toute une histoire des voix contrariées de la raison qui se dessine dans cette conférence/performance improvisée où la philosophie dialogue avec la musique et la vidéo, où les voix se mêlent et se disputent, résonnent et s’annulent, s’éclairent et se brouillent… pour laisser venir le « daïmon » contemporain sous la forme d’un drone « autonome » qui fait irruption et perturbe par les images…

 

Un jeu de regards s’amorce alors, incertain, conflictuel, dérisoire et décisif, entre la machine qui prend des images en permanence et notre regard qui essaie de la saisir sans parvenir à décider s’il s’agit de la menace d’un œil absolu, le réconfort d’un miroir narcissique ou l’appel à une autre clairvoyance.

 

Sur le plateau, un philosophe, un musicien, un réalisateur, vont donc chercher, hésiter, discuter, s’exposant à ce qui peut arriver avec les machines et avec le public pour ce qui reste durant cette résidence une expérimentation en cours.

Who are the "daimons" that surround us today? Can we still hear their voices? Are they closer to the "daemon" who speaks into the watchful ear of Socrates, the intermediary between gods and men? Or to the "familiar" who torments the soul through the malevolent actions of medieval witchcraft? Or perhaps to the ambivalent genius who advises and tempts, who preaches and punishes, a popular image of the psyche where the contradictory forces of consciousness and the unconscious clash?

 

This improvised lecture/performance unfolds as a whole story of the conflicting voices of reason, where philosophy engages in dialogue with music and video, where voices mingle and clash, resonate and cancel each other out, illuminate and blur… before the contemporary “daimon” arrives in the form of an “autonomous” drone that bursts in and disrupts with its images…

A game of gazes then begins, uncertain, conflicted, absurd, and decisive, between the machine that constantly captures images and our gaze, which tries to grasp it without being able to decide whether it is the threat of an absolute eye, the comfort of a narcissistic mirror, or the call to another kind of clairvoyance.

 

On stage, a philosopher, a musician, and a filmmaker will explore, hesitate, and discuss, exposing themselves to what might happen with the machines and with the audience in what remains, during this residency, an ongoing experiment.
